PURPOSE: An internet settlement system and method is provided to make a connection to a bank account based on a real bank account balance, settle a petty sum transaction, and realize a transaction with an external site without a specific subscription process. CONSTITUTION: An internet settlement system comprises the internet(10), a client(20), a bank server(30), a money exchange site(40), and a plurality of web sites(50a,50n) needing a settlement. The bank server(30), a part of a bank network, is connected to a user's account. The money exchange site(40) transfers a fund, stored in the bank server(30), to the web sites(50,50n) providing a pay contents. An internet settlement method comprises the steps of opening a bank account, logging in, executing a management program for a settlement over the internet via the money exchange site, generating a transaction at the payment sites purchasing a product, requesting a payment approval, encrypting the approval data, and calculating a fund transfer among the bank server(30), the money exchange site(40) and the web sites(50,50n).
