The support disk, as a bearing support between disks for the shaft of an open-end spinning rotor, has a structured zone at the side surface to be registered by a light beam and the reflections are used for disk rotary speed measurement. The structured disk zone (7,8) is formed by altering the surface characteristics of the basic material of the disk body (2). The structured light reflection zone (7,8) gives a different scattered light emission from the remaining disk (1) surface illuminated by the light beam. The surface at the structured zone (7,8) is formed by etching or a laser beam, to give a surface with a fine structure. A number of zones are formed on the disk surface as bar code markings. The light to register the marked zones on the disk surface is a laser beam (9). The disk (1) has a solid body (2) with a center drilling (4), and a polished aerodynamic surface, pref. with at least partial concave side surfaces. The marked surface zones (7,8) are at an angle, in the radial direction. The surface angle ( alpha ) formed at the marked surface zones (7,8) by a tangent (12) from the disk body (2) intersecting with the rotary axis (13) is 78-87 deg . The sensor (17) of the monitor (15) is outside the zone of a theoretical aligned reflection of the transmitted light beam.
