PURPOSE: A shift register circuit is provided to reduce the number of clock supply lines by driving a liquid crystal cell in a driving circuit for driving a pixel row of LCD, and reduces the number of level shifters. CONSTITUTION: A shift register is connected to a part for generating a high-potential supply voltage, a low-potential supply voltage, and clock signal. Many stages use an output signal of a previous terminal as a starting signal, thereby driving row lines. In the output circuit, the stage responds to a first control signal, and provides a first clock signal to the row line, so that the row line is charged. A voltage on the row line is discharged in response to the second control signal. The input circuit charges/discharges the first control signal in response to the second clock signal through an input line of the start signal, and charges/discharges the second control signal in response to the first control signal and the first clock signal. Thereby, the number of clock supply lines is reduced and the number of level shifters is reduced.
