A cable lock and seal device has a body 1 enclosing friction member 8 held by a spring 14 and having a through passage 21-22, and a flexible inextensible member 2 having one end 20 attached to the body, the opposite end 25 being adapted to pass through the passage and engage with the friction member 8 to prevent movement or withdrawal of the flexible member in the opposite direction. The body 1 comprises a cast or moulded casing 3 which is closed at one end and is open at the other end, and an end cover 7 adapted permanently to close the open end of the casing 3. One end of the flexible inextensible member 20 is attached to the casing 3 by being cast or moulded into the casing and is permanently connected thereto so that it projects from the closed end. |
