PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly execute sewing work by selecting either a thread pulling- out mode for doing operation for pulling out a thread or non thread pulling-out mode not for pulling out a thread base on the relative moving quantity of a supporting frame after executing thread cutting operation succeeding the sewing so as to prevent the generation of a wasteful time during sewing operation. SOLUTION: After doing thread cutting operation after sewing, a CPU calculates a moving quantity to the next moving position of a fabric supporting frame 16c and compares the calculated value with a previously set judging standard. Then, when the calculated value is smaller than the judging standard (e.g. 1 cm), the CPU executes a thread pulling-out mode. Namely, the CPU moves the frame 16c by e.g. about 1 cm from the needle hole 52a of a needle plate 52 to execute operation only for pulling out the thread. When the calculated value is larger than the judging standard (e.g. 1 cm) on the other hand, the CPU executes a non thread pulling-out mode. Namely at the time of executing the next sewing operation, the non thread pulling out mode is selected to avoid the operation for pulling out the thread.
