PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device in which the reclining lock release does not occur even in case of the side collision of vehicles. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a lower arm, an upper arm 210, a hinge pin which supports the relative rotation between the lower arm and the upper arm 210, a cylinder part 230 installed on the lower arm side, a disc 240 which is installed in the upper arm 210, and is located in the cylinder part 230, and forms a pair of wedge-like spaces whose directions are opposite between its peripheral surface and the inside circumferential surface of the cylinder part 230, rollers 250 and 251 which are arranged in each wedge-like space and can move in the circumferential direction of the inside surface of the cylinder part 230, a spring 253 which energizes the rollers 250 and 251 in the direction in which they are pushed to the inside surface of the cylinder part 230 and the peripheral surface of the disc 240, and a disc with claws 260 which moves in the axial direction of the hinge pin and moves the rollers 250 and 251 in the direction in which they are separated from the peripheral surface of the disc 240. The disc with claws 260 is made to move in the operation direction of a release lever, when the release lever is operated to the reclining lever lock release direction.
