摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method using two kinds of liquid, an ink composition and a reaction liquid forming an image of superior resistance to scuffing and resistance to water, free from nozzle clogging and carrying out the stabilized printing. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording method, an ink composition and a reaction liquid containing a reaction agent generating agglomerates when being brought into contact with the ink composition are made to adhere on a recording medium, and in the constitution of the ink composition to be used, the ink composition contains at least a coloring agent, polymer fine particles, a water-soluble organic solvent and water, and the polymer fine particles are provided with film forming properties, while carboxyl is contained on the surfaces of the fine particles, and the reaction properties with a bivalent metal salt, in which, when 3 volume of 0.1 wt.% aqueous emulsion of the fine particles is brought into contact with 1 volume of a bivalent metal salt water solution of 1 mol/l density, the time required for setting the light transmittance of 700 nm wavelength is 50% of the initial value is 1×104 second or less, is provided.
