PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a luminous material and a light receiving material comprising Ru2Si3, Ir3Si5 or OsSi and a luminous element and a light receiving element using the same materials. SOLUTION: The luminous material and light receiving material contain Ru2Si3 as an active layer, the luminous material and light receiving material contain Ir3Si5 as an active layer or the luminous material and light receiving material contain OsSi as an active layer. The luminous element and light receiving element comprise respective elements using any of the luminous materials and light receiving materials.
