PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for pickling metallic balls in which oxide film developed on the surface of the metallic balls by hot-rolling is removed with great certainty and in which a cleaning process for realizing the improvement of product quality and the load reduction of drainage water treating work is also included. SOLUTION: A screw conveyor 3 having a liquid discharging hole at the inlet part and an acid supplying hole and an acid discharge hole at the intermediate part is arranged at the end part of an inclining pipe 2 composed of a main pipe 2a for continuously receiving and dropping red-heated metallic balls 8 and a branch pipe 2b for injecting an acid solution against the metallic balls. In the cleaning process, a trommel device 7 and a carrying conveyor 11 with a plurality of nozzles 10a-10h are independently disposed in each section.
