PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopper ring of a stop type having the performance equivalent to a conventional stopper ring and capable of simply, quickly producing and its production method. SOLUTION: A stopper ring has a wedge like cross section which is arranged with a bottom face 2 right angle to a center line C, an inner peripheral face 3 and an outer peripheral face 4 erecting from its bottom face at respective acute angle, further has an annular shape arranged with a notch part 1 and is arranged with plural projecting claws 8 which has edges 9 engaging to an opponent members to the corner part 6 between the bottom face 2 and the inner peripheral face 3 at an interval apart each other. The projecting claws 8 are arranged at least at three places of a section facing the notch part 1 and both neighborhoods of left/right of the notch part. The stopper ring A is produced so that the wire having the bottom face 2 and a wedge like cross section having an inclined face for the inner peripheral face 3 and the outer peripheral face 4 is produced from a metal wire, successively, the wire is formed to an annular shape arranged with the notch 1, successively the projecting claws 8 having the edges 9 are formed by partially holding pressing the inner peripheral face 3 and the bottom face 2.
