PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet a requirement for high speed by quickly forming an accepting preparation for sheets in a designated delivery tray in a configuration having a plurality of independently driven delivery trays relative to one sheet delivery port. SOLUTION: In using an upper side delivery tray 1 capable of upwardly shunting to the upper portion of a sheet delivery port E2, a lower side delivery tray 2 serving as a high-volume delivery tray is shunted to a lower limit position detected by a lower limit position detecting sensor SN7. In the case when the lower side delivery trays 2 has low sheet load capacity or removes the sheets, a standby position serving as a home position for the lower side delivery tray 2 detected by a standby position detecting sensor SN9 is controlled as a shunting position.
