PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head and its manufacture whereby efficiency of filling a pressure chamber with ink and efficiency of discharging ink from ink nozzles are improved, thereby realizing high-quality gradation expression. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording head 55 has a pressure chamber 19 connected to an ink pool 40, a diaphragm 23 facing the pressure chamber 19 and, a piezoelectric element 20 arranged in contact with an island-shaped projection formed to the diaphragm 23 for discharging ink from an ink nozzle 41 by vibrating the diaphragm 23. In the ink jet recording head 55, the diaphragm 23 is provided with a stainless material 11 in contact with the piezoelectric element 20, a nickel thin film exposed to the pressure chamber 19, and a polymer organic compound layer placed between the stainless material and nickel thin film. The island-shaped projection is formed by etching a face of the stainless material.
