PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in high purity and yield the subject compounds useful as an organic semiconductor without using any strongly alkaline substance by reaction between trihalotriphenylamines and aromatic secondary amines using a specific catalyst. SOLUTION: These compounds, a 4,4',4"-tris(disubstituted amino) triphenylamines of formula III are obtained by reaction of (A) 4,4',4"- trihalotriphenylamines of formula I (X is a halogen) with (B) aromatic secondary amines of formula II (R1 and R2 are each an aryl or aralkyl) in the molar ration B/A of >=3 in the presence of (C) an alkali metal carbonate or bicarbonate (pref. potassium carbonate or bicarbonate), (D) a crown ether compound (pref. 18-crown-6), and (E) copper fine powder in an inert gas atmosphere; wherein the component A is pref. 4,4',4"-triiodotriphenylamine. |
