PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint member for shield segments that can be joined at a touch correspond to the demand of a prompt execution of shield construction, and is tough in strength, and also can reduce costs. SOLUTION: The joint member is to join shield segments by inserting the joint male of a following segment in the joint female segment of a preceding segment, in which the joint male part 1 comprises a rod having a sleeve 11a formed at the distal end and a corn-shaped pin to be inserted in the sleeve 11a by its base part, and the joint female part 2 comprises a rod 21 having an opening into which the joint male part is inserted in its distal end part, a tongue and groove adjusting ring 22 being inserted into the opening of the rod and joined at a step-configured part formed near the inlet of the opening, an a ring-shaped upper lid 23 being inserted in the inlet of the opening and joining the tongue and groove adjusting ring 22 at the opposite side of the step-configured part.
