PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide escape equipment capable of simply erecting an expansion- contraction tower capable of safely making a large number of persons escape rapidly from a multi-story building surely along the building. SOLUTION: A vertically extensible-contractible expansion-contraction frame body 7a is formed by bonding a plurality of expansion-contraction bodies 5 in which a large number of cross-links are successively supported and connected pivotally in the vertical direction in frame-shaped arrangement, a plurality of stages of the bodies 7a are stacked upwards to form an expansion-contraction tower 7, an expansion-contraction driving means 31 for expanding and contracting the frame bodies 7a is arranged into the tower 7 so as to be able to be moved vertically, one driving means 31 is moved vertically and each frame body 7a is expanded and contracted severally, the tower 7 is elongated in the case of refuge from the inside of a multi-story building, and persons can be safely made to escape quickly onto a ground by going along and descending on the inside of the tower 7.
