PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an opening device for a wall plate such as a ceiling capable of having an excellent operability, and forming openings of the plural shapes. SOLUTION: An elevating frame body is provided on a base 2, and a cutting portion supporting arm 23 is rotatably provided on an upper end portion of the elevating frame body. Cutting portions 30, 31 is provided on the arm 23, which can slide across a rotation center axis 18'. While rotating the arm 23, the cutting portions 30, 31 are driven in a direction where the cutting portions 30, 31 oppose to or separate from each other to linearly move, thereby forming a square-shaped opening on a surface of a ceiling part. Under a condition where the cutting portions 30, 31 are fixed at a predetermined position of the arm 23, the arm 23 is rotated to form a circular opening on the ceiling surface. By setting a series of opening motions in a sequencer, an opening work is automatically operated with an input operation to a touch panel 38 of an operator. Therefore, openings of the plural shapes can be formed, and various kinds of positioning work and the like can be automatically operated, which enables realizing an opening device having an excellent operability.
