PURPOSE:To improve an electrode characteristic by reducing a PTFE quantity in the inside of an electrode and increasing that of the active material layer on the surface. CONSTITUTION:An active material layer, having the main component of nickel hydroxide, is formed in a condition, where a substrate is nonexisting, on the surface of a positive electrode, polytetrafluoroethylene is added to active material paste packed in the inside of the substrate, and to the active material layer formed on the surface of the positive electrode, and the added quantity of polytetrafluoroethylene to the active material layer is made more than that to the active material paste. This eliminates the isolation of the substrate at the time of winding on a negative electrode, prevents the falling or winding failure of the active material layer at the time of winding, and moreover improves an electrode performance. |
