PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a heat recovery efficiency without generating harmful components by directly introducing a gas generated in a coke oven into a pyrolyzing oven, decomposing tar, or the like, in the gas into CO and H2 gases under a specific condition to treat coke oven waste by a simple equipment. SOLUTION: This method for treating waste generated from a coke oven is to introduce a gas generated from a coke oven 1 as it is, e.g. into a pyrolysis oven 15 held at 1100-1300 deg.C, partially burn the gas with oxygen or oxygen and steam in the pyrolysis oven 15 (the retention time is preferably >=2 seconds) and decompose tar and light oil components in the gas into CO and H2 gases to treat the generated product from the coke oven. It is preferable to treat the generated product from the coke oven by collecting dust generated in the pyrolysis oven 15 by a dust collector and blowing the collected dust by the dust collector with oxygen into the pyrolysis oven 15 from a burner 20 installed in the pyrolysis oven 15 to gasify the dust. |
