PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module which is well balanced in the degree of penetration and adhesiveness of a potting agent and is excellent in durability and separation performance as well as a process for producing a hollow fiber membrane and a process for producing the hollow fiber membrane module. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane module is the module in which at least one-side ends of hollow fiber membrane bundles are end-sealed by the potting agent and a membrane drying prohibiting agent exists more in the parts exclusive of the ends than near these ends. The process for producing the hollow fiber membrane of such hollow fiber membrane module consists in immersing the whole of the hollow fiber membrane bundles into a membrane drying prohibiting agent solution (A) for a specified time, then washing at least the one-side ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundles with water to wash away the membrane drying prohibiting agent and treating only the ends with a membrane drying prohibiting agent solution (B) of the concentration lower than the concentration of the membrane drying prohibiting agent solution. The process for producing the hollow fiber membrane module further consists in penetrating the potting agent into the parts treated with the membrane drying prohibiting agent solution (B) in addition to the process for producing such hollow fiber membrane.
