PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a chopstick material of a fractional material left over after making a semi-finished product of a WARIBASHI (disposable chopstick) using a back board as a remainder material. SOLUTION: First a flat board material 17c for making a semi-finished product of a WARIBASHI (disposable chopstick) is cut out of a back board with a crescent-shaped section obtained by sawing a log is its cutting face 12. Then a fractional material 17 of a specified length like a flat board which is as thick as the size in the width direction or less than the size of the half-split chopstick, is obtained. Further, the fractional material 17 is cut so that individual pieces of the WARIBASHI each having the size of a width equal to a single piece of the WARIBASHI are formed by an oblique face 17b inclined to the cutting face 12. Thus a flat board material 17c for a chopstick material 17a with the cutting face 12 and the oblique face 17b is produced. The flat board material 17c for the chopstick material 17a is cut into the individual pieces of the WARIBASHI longitudinal at a specified pitch in the width direction of the flat board material 17 to finally obtain plural pieces of the chopstick material 17a.
