METHOD FOR PREVENTING ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION AND PRODUCT HAVING FUNCTION TO PREVENT ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To oxide and decompose a harmful material which may diffuse into environment due to the incineration of polymer products or the like to make it harmless by previously incorporating a compound exhibiting photocatalytic oxidation capability by heating in the production process. SOLUTION: An amorphous photocatalyst easily crystallizing at a low temp. is used to obtain advanced photocatalytic activity by heating. As a compound easily crystallized and exhibiting photocatalytic oxidation capability, a uniform amorphous titanium oxide is preferable. A transition metal oxide or its precursor may be previously additionally incorporated in the product and the transition metal oxide to be used is preferably vanadium oxide. An adsorbent such as zeolite or activated carbon may be added in the mixed catalyst. The generation of the harmful waste is suppressed and the adsorbed harmful waste is photocatalytically decomposed by adding a trace quantity of the catalyst into a product generating a hormonic material and having probability to cause environmental pollution in the incineration disposal.
