PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an on-demand type ink jet ink which is excellent in delivery stability even in a low-humidity environment and can dispense with a long-time preparatory delivery by compounding water with a colorant, a high-boiling-point organic solvent, and a moisture-absorbent solid organic compound. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I is preferable as the moisture-absorbent solid organic compound. In formula I, R is H or a substituent; and m is an integer of 1-4. A compound of formula II is also preferable as the moisture- absorbent solid organic compound. In formula II, R1 to R4 are each independently H or a (substituted)alkyl, aromatic or heterocyclic group provided R1 may combine with R2, R2 may with R3, R3 may with R4 or R4 may with R1 to form an aromatic or heterocyclic ring; X is a halogen or an organic acid residue; and n is an integer of 1-4. Preferably, at least 50 wt.% of the high-boiling-point organic solvent is a compound of the formula: H-(OCH2CH2)1-OH (wherein l is an integer of 1-50). |
