<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the accumulation of the magnesium sulfate in a desulfurization plant, to smoothly operate the device and to recover the magne sium incorporated in absorbing liq. discharged from the desulfurization device. SOLUTION: Part of the absorbing liq. absorbing and removing sulfur oxide from olemulsion combustion waste gas is discharged from the desulfurization device 1 on the basis of its magnesium ion concn., gypsum is separated and recovered at a gypsum separator 2, slaked line is added to the resultant solution at a reactor 4 to convert the magnesium sulfide incorporated in the liq. to magnesium hydroxide and gypsum slurry, the obtained gypsum slurry is separated and recovered at a cyclone 5 and returned to the gypsum separator, and also the magnesium hydroxide in the liq. from which the gypsum slurry is separated is recovered by subjecting the liq. to sedimentation separation at a thickener.</p> |
