PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably mount even a resin cap, or even a metal cap, on a bottle while preventing lowering of economical efficiency. SOLUTION: A cap feed unit 5 is provided which freely feeds a cap to a bottle 3, and a rotary drive capping unit 6 for mounting the cap to the bottle 3 in a capping-completed state is provided on the downstream side of the cap feed unit 5. The capping unit 6 has an attachment for a resin cap, which freely tightens a threaded resin cap, and an attachment for a metal cap, which threads an unthreaded metal cap fitted on a bottle mouth so as to correspond to the shape of a threaded potion of the bottle mouth and mounts the threaded metal cap on the bottle, both the attachments being provided to the capping unit 6 in such a manner as to be freely changed over. A temporary tightening unit 1 which freely performs temporary tightening of the resin cap disposed on the bottle mouth by tightening rotations more than the predetermined number of rotations is provided between the cap feed unit 5 and the capping unit 6 in such a manner that the state of a temporary tightening operation and the state of a temporary tightening non-operation are freely changed over by a drive means.
