PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide malfunctions of an injector to prevent troubles which may lead to engine damage by monitoring reduction of a common rail pressure keeping decreasing, even after the elapse of fuel injection completion time. SOLUTION: In this injection device, when a common rail pressure Pr keeps decreasing even after fuel injection completion time t3, common rail pressures from Pr(n) to Pr(n+2) at sampling time from tn to tn+2 are detected. When continuous pressure differences ΔPr(n) (=Pr(n)-Pr(n+1)), ΔPr(n+1) (=Pr(n+1)-Pr(n+2)) exceed a predetermined threshold, it is decided that the descending state of the common rail pressure Pr is excessive, and that a static leak amount is excessive. Accordingly, it is decided that the operation of an injector is poor, and fuel injection from the injector is prohibited. |
