PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound industrially advantageously by using various amidoxime derivative as starting materials, forming O-acyl compound by using a prescribed acylating compound, then acting hydrogen in the presence of suitable solvent and catalyst. SOLUTION: This method for producing an amidine derivative is provided by acting hydrogen to a compound of formula I (A is phenyl group or a heterocyclic group that may have a substituting group; R is a 1-6C alkyl, a 3-8C cycloalkyl, a 1-6C haloalkyl or phenyl that may have a substituting group) or its salts in an inert solvent in the presence of a catalyst of an VTIIth group element in the Periodic table (preferably a Pd- or Pt-based catalyst) to obtain an amidine derivative of formula II or its salts. For example, 2,3-difluoro-6- trifluoromethylbenzamidine derivative is obtained by dissolving 2,3-difluoro-6- trifluoromethyl-O-phenylacetylbenzamideoxime in THF, adding a 10% Pd-C thereto, making the reaction system under a hydrogen atmosphere and reacting under a normal pressure and at a room temperature. |
