PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new amino alcohol dehydrogenase having ability, etc., to reductively convert a keto-alcohol to an amino alcohol, having wide substrate specificity, capable of enzymatically synthesizing a useful compound such as serinol and excellent in general-purpose properties. SOLUTION: This new amino alcohol has ability to reductively convert a keto alcohol to an amino alcohol and ability to oxidatively convert an amino alcohol to a keto-alcohol and further has ability to reductively convert a keto- acid to an amino acid and ability to oxidatively convert an amino acid to a keto-acid and further, has ability to reductively convert a ketone or an aldehyde to an amine and oxidatively convert an amine to a ketone or an aldehyde. Furthermore, the amino alcohol dehydrogenase is obtained by culturing a microorganism such as Arthrobacter aurescens B 151 strain (FER P-17137) having ability to produce the amino alcohol dehydrogenase. |
