PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method and an apparatus for cooling steamed leaves, capable of not requiring much installation space, inexpensively carrying out an operation and surely cooling the temperature of steamed leaves before being sent to a rolling and drying process approximately to room temperature. SOLUTION: Steamed leaves A heat-treated with hot air by a steamed leaf treating machine 4 are transported while being cooled by cooling air. The cooling of the steamed leaves by the cooling air is performed, for example, during the transportation by a vibration conveyor (transportation conveyor 5) of a transportation line in the middle of sending to a rolling and drying process or during the transportation by a vertical bucket conveyor 6.
