The inner periphery (14) of the frame top side (3) can mate with the outside of a housing used to close the pit. The bottom side (5) of the frame (1) includes at least one cavities (7) extending from the bottom side inner periphery (8) in order to cooperate with the top side of an adjoining box frame. Independent claims are also included for methods of shuttering the walls of an excavated pit by stacking one or more of the box frames inside the pit.
