PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit high temp. oxidation resistance without deteriorating the characteristics of MCrAlY by coating the surface of MCrAlY powder with metal excellent in high temp. oxidation resistance. SOLUTION: The surface of MCrAlY powder, in which M consists of at least one or >= two kinds among Fe, Ni and Co, is coated with Pt, Re, Ta and Nb excellent in high temp. oxidation resistance. The content of the metal coating the surface of MCrAlY powder is preferably controlled to <5 wt.%. By using an electroplating method, an electroless plating method, a PVD method or the like, the surface of the MCrAlY powder is coated with Pt. The blending ratio of the MCrAlY powder and the metallic Pt in a Pt plating soln. is controlled to 97 to 98 wt.% and 2 to 3 wt.%, and stirring is executed at 40 to 50 deg.C for 30 min. The MCrAlY powder and the Pt plating soln. are separated, and drying is executed to obtain Pt-coated MCrAlY powder. It may be coated with Re, Ta, Nb or the like by using a PVD method. Thermal spraying powder suitable for the sprayed coating of members such as a gas turbine blade or the like can be obtd. |
