PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe composition for a freshness-keeping feed effective for preventing the oxidation of meat of cultured fish such as yellowtail during storage without deteriorating the quality of meat product and useful for a feed for pisciculture by making the composition include a polyphenol compound, an emulsifier, vitamin E, etc. SOLUTION: The objective composition contains (A) at least one kind of polyphenol compound preferably selected from among (+)-catechin, (+)- gallocatechin, (-)-gallocatechin gallate, etc., (B) an emulsifier such as glycerol fatty acid ester, (C) vitamin E and (D) an oil and fat such as rapessed oil preferably in amounts of 1-20 wt.% for the component A, 4580 wt.% for the component B, 3-20 wt.% for the component C and 10-40 wt.% for the component D. Oxidation of fish meat during storage can be prevented by mixing the composition to a feed and supplying the feed to the cultured fish of breeding stage. The amount of the composition to be added to the feed is preferably 0.005-3.0 wt.%. |
