PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dispersing a wet cake of expandable microcapsule capable of dissociating and dispersing the wet cake in the state of a homogeneous expandable microparticle without expanding or destroying the microcapsule and conducting an operation such as pulverization after drying. SOLUTION: The method, described in the present invention, for dispersing a wet cake of expandable microcapsule comprises dissociating and dispersing the wet cake to obtain an expandable microparticle by drying processing of the wet cake so that the water content of the wet cake become 5% or less under normal pressure or reduced pressure of 50 mmHg or more while adding vibration to the wet cake of the expandable microcapsule containing a volatile material in an outside shell comprising a thermoplastic resin.
