PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode inexpensive in the production cost and excellent in the efficiency of electric power at the time of electrolysis without providing a current collector such as a silver net in the conventional gas diffusion electrode. SOLUTION: A gas diffusion electrode 1 is produced by providing a sheet, in which a reaction layer 2 and a gas feeding layer 3 are laminated, with dents or cuts 6, filling silver particles therein and executing hot pressing. The cuts 6 may be the ones piercing the sheet and may be the ones to the mid-way, but in the case of the ones piercing the sheet, the reaction layer 2 and an electrically conductive filled body in a gas chamber can electrically be connected.
