PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shell connecting joint simple in structure and with a small residing region inside to connect a shell free to extend and contract and to slacken. SOLUTION: A joint main body 4 is constituted by extending one end of a shell of roughly the same size in cross-section as a shell 2 to be connected to it in diameter in size free to insert the shell 2 into it, and a joint 1 is constituted by installing a fastening mechanism 5 furnished with a cross-section L type housing 8, packing 9, a clamp 10, a tightening means 12, etc., so as to overhang outward in the radial direction on a diametrically extended end part 4a. In this constitution, it is possible to connect the shell 2 free to extend and contract and to slacken by inserting the shell 2 in the fastening mechanism 5 and the end part 4a extended in diameter of the joint main body and sealing an inner surface of the packing 9 by pressing it on an outer surface of the shell 2 by fastening the packing 9 in the shell axial direction.
