PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite powder having a hue varying with an angle to be observed and free from excessive gloss. SOLUTION: This composite powder comprises a squamate substrate and at least two colored layers laminated and coated thereon and has the difference of the maximum value and the minimum value (hMAX-hMIN) of the ab hue angle hab prescribed in JIS Z 8729 (Color specification: L*a*b* color system and L*u*v* color system) 5.3 of 10 deg.-180 deg. (provided that when this value exceeds 180 deg., 360 deg.-(hMAX-hMIN) is 10 deg.-180 deg.) and the ratio of the maximum value to the minimum value of the lightness L* prescribed in the same standard 4 is 1.0-2.0.
