PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install a brace with a stable strength by connecting an externally attached receiving member such as a brace and a coupling member such as brace with bolts in configuration. SOLUTION: To both the ends of a member 14 used of a brace cut off, a coupling member 17 such as a brace is fixed with bolts or the like from three directions at front face and right and left side faces, at this time, a gap is created between a pressure receiving member 4 of the coupling member 17 and the member used 14. Next, the member used 14 with both the ends fixed to the coupling member 17 is jointed to an externally attached receiving member 15 such as a brace fixed to arranged portion such as post 12, beam and groundsill 13. Next, when a tensile force acts to a brace arranged, the force is transmitted through the coupling member 17 to a bolt joint, receiving member 15, post 12, and beam and groundsill 13. When a compressive force is applied, the force is transmitted from a bolt joint portion to pressure receiving member 4 and member used 14 as jointing member 17 through the pressure member 4 of the receiving member 15. In this way, a brace with a stable strength can be attached easily without being affected by workers' skill.
