PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of a blood vessel measuring device utilizing ultrasonic waves for specifying a blood vessel. SOLUTION: Scanning of ultrasonic beams is made by a linear probe 10, and the region of interest is set to include a blood vessel. Peak search is made from the center of the lumen to the wall of the blood vessel on the ultrasonic beams passing the region of interest. An inner peak 102 and outer peak 104 reflecting the inner structure of the wall of the blood vessel are detected, and various data of the blood vessel such as the displacement, diameter, thickness of the wall, etc., are measured based on the detected peaks specific to the vessel.
