PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily and exactly match the distance up to the eye to be examined and to measure the distance from a remote distance with a small-sized optical system. SOLUTION: The luminous flux from a light source 16 for illumination illuminates the anterior segment of the eye E to be examined from slightly below a measurement optical path O1 through a condenser lens 17. The reflected image of the light source 16 by the cornea C is generated slightly below the center of the pupil P. The cornea reflected image C1 advances through the optical paths O1 and O2 and are formed on an image pickup means 5 via beam splitting members 1 and 2, an objective lens 3 and a beam splitting member 4. The cornea reflected image C2 advances through the optical path O5 and is formed on the image pickup means 5 via a mirror 18, a lens 19 and a splitting prism 20. Two kinds of the cornea reflected images C1 and C2 are obtained together with the image F of the anterior segment of the eye illuminated by the light source 16 for illumination. If the distances are matched, the cornea reflected images C1 and C2 are displayed to line up in a horizontal direction.
