REDUCING AGENT FOR ADVERSE EFFECT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reducing agent for adverse effects having an inflammatory inhibiting activity in an alimentary canal induced by administration of an antitumor agent and useful for continuation, etc., of cancer chemotherapy by including chloroiminopyrrolidinylmethylpyrimidinedione as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This agent is obtained by including 15-chloro-6-(2- iminopyrrolidin-1-yl)methyl-2,4(1H,3H)-pyrimidinedione represented by the formula as an active ingredient and the resultant agent is capable of reducing adverse effects due to an antitumor agent, e.g. nausea or emesis. For example, 5- fluorouracil, 5-trifluoromethyl-2'-deoxyuridine, irinotecane hydrochloride or cisplatin is cited as the aantitumor agent to be an object of the agent for reducing the adverse effects. The daily dose of the active ingredient of the agent for reducing the adverse effects is preferably about 0.01-100 mg/kg. When the antitumor agent is previously formulated, the daily dose of the antitumor agent is preferably about 0.01-100 mg/kg.
