PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing molten metal with which the flow-down of the molten metal from a molten metal bath for passing through a steel sheet can be prevented over a long period to a level causing no problem in production processes. SOLUTION: A hot dip metal coating apparatus 6 is provided with a molten metal supplying bath 11 to which molten metal L is supplied from a melting bath 16 for melting a hot dipping coating metal ingot, a gas wiping device 14 for wiping the excess molten metal stuck on the steel sheet 1 with gas, a bath 12 for receiving flowing down molten metal arranged below the supplying bath 11 and receiving the molten metal flowing down from the supplying bath 11 and pressure adjusting means 7, 9, 10.
