PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make active carbon exhibit deodorization performance against specified gases to which active carbon is unsuitable at deodorizing by containing a basic gas deodorant or an aldehyde deodorant, in a deodorization filter made by filling cells of a honeycomb with granular active carbon and closing the openings at both sides of the honeycomb with a permeable substrate. SOLUTION: To improve the deodorizing performance of the active carbon against specified gases to which the active carbon unsuitable at deodorizing while utilizing a great deodorizing capacity of active carbon, a honeycomb is filled with a basic gas deodorant or an aldehyde deodorant. The basic gas deodorant is the one containing mainly an acidic substance, and includes an inorganic adsorbent having a copolymer of an organic acid such as a fumaric acid, maleic acid, acrylic acid, or the like, and an acidic group such as activated clay, and active carbon impregnated with an acid such as a phosphoric acid. The aldehyde deodorant is the one having great affinity with aldehydes such as acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, and the like, and includes amine-impregnated active carbon, a high silica zeolite, a molecular sieve, and the like.
