PURPOSE: A radial tire is provided to prevent a bumpy phenomenon and to restrain occurrence of separation by improving durability of carcass ends. CONSTITUTION: An upper chafer(4) wherein fabric reinforcing cords are arranged is attached onto an upper face of both ends of a carcass(1), and a lower chafer(5) is installed below the upper chafer. The chafers are extended from the end of the carcass while extensions(41,51) of the respective chafers form a gap. The reinforcing cords are installed in directions opposite to each other in 10 to 15 angular degrees to offset shear stress transmitted to the ends of the chafers. The extension of the lower chafer is longer than that of the upper chafer. Width of the upper chafer is 20 to 50mm while length(P) of the upper chafer extension is 5 to 15mm. Width of the lower chafer is 30 to 100mm while length(N) of the lower chafer extension is twice the length of the upper chafer extension. According to automatic attachment of the chafers, a gap of the extensions is reduced and deformation in curing of a tire is minimized. With increased durability of the carcass end, occurrence of separation is restrained. Further, a bumpy phenomenon of a sidewall, quality and durability of a tire are improved.
