PURPOSE: A vehicle drive system is provided to make easy a long-distance travel by restraining returning of an accelerator pedal to an original state until a brake pedal is stepped on even if a driver steps off a foot from the accelerator pedal. CONSTITUTION: A drive system of a vehicle comprises: a lock/unlock plate(10) rotatably combined to a specific portion of an accelerator pedal bracket(2) via a shaft pin(11) while having a sector gear(12) at a middle portion of a lower face; a lock gear(15) fixed in a specific portion of an accelerator pedal(4) and engaged with the sector gear; a backward rotation preventing member(16) coaxially coupled to the lock gear to prevent backward rotation of the lock gear; and an accelerator pedal unlocking unit for interlocking the lock/unlock plate by operation of a brake pedal(5). If a driver steps off a foot from the accelerator pedal, backward rotation of the accelerator pedal is prevented by the backward rotation preventing member. Therefore, a long-distance travel is easily possible.
