PURPOSE: A sleep prevention device for a driver is provided to prevent an accident due to sleep of the driver during a travel by periodically beating the head of the driver. CONSTITUTION: A sleep prevention device comprises a battery(1), a first switch(2) turned on by manipulation of a driver to pass the voltage outputted from the battery, a control unit(4) two or three times outputting pulses having a specific period upon turn-on of the first switch, a relay switch(7) turned on upon input of the pulse signal from the control unit; a transistor(3) amplifying the voltage inputted via the relay switch; an electromagnet(5) generating a magnetic force depending on the output voltage of the transistor; a piston(6) moving to the left and right by the magnetic force; a beat unit(9) installed in an upper side of a vehicle body to hit the head of a driver; and a drive lever(8) combined with the hit unit and the piston. Upon turning on the first switch or a second switch(10), pulse signals are outputted to the relay switch after when voltage is inputted to the control unit. The piston moves to the right by the magnetic force generated from the electromagnet. With rightward movement of the piston, the drive lever moves to the right and the beat unit connected with the drive lever clockwise rotates by centering on a hinge unit(9a). Thus, the head of the driver is beaten and the driver is awakened from a sleep.
