PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the useless consumption of power in heating cooking by actuating a self-retention means when a power supply for control is supplied, and by retaining or canceling the operation state of the self-retention means according to a detection result from a food detection means while a door opening and closing detection means detects the closing of a door. SOLUTION: When a door 35 of a heating cooking device is opened, a pair of main door switches 3 and 4 is turned off, and at the same time a sub door 32 and a door switch 14 are turned on, thus activating a control circuit 16, detecting the opening of the door by a door opening and closing detection mean 20, outputting the information to a microcomputer 17, and hence turning on a relay 15 by the microcomputer 17 for forming the self-retention circuit of a power supply circuit 18. When food is loaded into a heating chamber and the door is closed, a signal corresponding to the weight of the food is sent to the microcomputer 17 from a food detection sensor 33. Then, when a cooking command is given by a key input detection circuit 19, a table motor 7, a high-frequency generation source 11, and a fan motor 12 are energized, and cooling is started.
