The invention relates to chemistry, and particularly, to the process of N,N-dimethylaminoethanol hydrochloride 2-chlor-4-dimethylamidosulphonyl-phenoxyacetate preparation of the formula (I): <CHFORM>which is an active component of the ROMENER (Meclosulphonate) remedy possessing psychoactive and anticonvulsant activities.The process comprises transestherification of methyl-2-chlor-4-dimethylamidosulphonyl-phenoxyacetate with N,N-dimethylaminoethanol at 100°C during 4 hours in presence of sodium N,N-dimethylaminoethoxide as a cathalyst, separation of the estheric oil from the reaction medium, extraction and dehydratation thereof into benzene at up to 10°C, treatment of the anhydous benzenic solution with gaseous hydrogen chloride in the cold, purification of the final product by recrystallization from the mixture of ethanol and dimethylformamide.Claims: 4
