PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit meta-information and to improve efficiency in the retrieval of meta-information. SOLUTION: Concerning this reception equipment, a meta-information schemer, meta-information and inference rules are received together with contents and respectively stored. The meta-information stored in a meta-information storage part 307 is retrieved and referred to by a meta-information operating part 310. The history of retrieval and reference is stored in a user profile storage part 312. According to the inference rules, any attribute, which is not directly expressed in the meta-information, can be used. A meta-information/schemer change part 308 changes the meta-information schemer and the meta-information so as to have an attribute found by inference rules, which have application frequency greater than a threshold value, in the case of such inference rules on the basis of the history of retrieval and reference. Thus, the state of applying inference rules at all the time is decreased and retrieval efficiency is improved. |
