<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emitting element capable of being manufactured inexpensively, being driven at low voltage, and easily obtaining electron emitting capacity with high efficiency. SOLUTION: An electron emitting element is arranged with a gate electrode 104 on a cathode electrode 101 through a resistance layer 102 and an insulating layer 103, and is arranged with a pedestal 106 formed with a carbon nanotube 107 formed on the pedestal 106 in an opening 108. Electrons are emitted from the carbon nanotube 107 when voltage is applied between the cathode electrode 101 and the gate electrode 104.</p> |
