PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element capable of continuous luminescence having stability for a long time and high luminescent luminance, by making a compound having an azepine structure contained in an organic compound layer between an anode to inject holes and a cathode to inject electrons on a base. SOLUTION: At least either one of compounds expressed in the formula I, formula II and formula III is contained in an organic compound layer. Since these compounds have hole transportability, they are preferably used for hole transporting materials, however a compound having strong fluorescence can be used for a luminescent material. Thereby, a driving life is prolonged and an electroluminescent element excellent in stability is obtained. In the formulas I-III, (A), (B), and (C) are o-allylene group; (D) is a bibalent coupling group; (E) is a group induced from a compound containing an aromatic group, or a group induced from a carbon atom or a hetero atom; R is an alkyl, aryl or an aromatic heterocyclic group; m=2-5; n=1-4; p=3-5.
