PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an easy-to-hold shape and also to improve the single-hand operability of a remote controller by securing a shape which has a U-shape in its front view and has a wide center part with a slow curve drawn toward the under part from the top part. SOLUTION: The main body of this remote controller has a U-shape in its front view and has the largest width at its center part with a slow curve drawn toward the under part from the top part. The front center part of the controller includes a display part 1 of a liquid crystal, etc., with a display illumination button 2 placed at the under right part of the part 1 to control the illumination of the part 1 and a sound volume control button 3 placed at the front under part respectively. When a user stretches his/her arm to the controller to operate a disk player, the thumb and the first, second, third and fifth fingers of the right hand are located at each prescribed area. Then the thumb can perform the reproduction, stop, fast forward and rewind operations with other four fingers holding the side face of the main body of the controller respectively.
